The Tragic Life of Frank and Stein - and stray cats in general
Frank and Stein stayed around 3 weeks in the vet. During mid December, I took Frank to the park, as to take him out of the cage, and as he was healthy for a long time. I played with him at the park and stayed with him there as to get him used to the place.
He didn't stay there for one day. The very next day, Frank was gone. What is tragic is, I saw him get outside and start meowing. I thought he would go inside. Apparently he didnt. Or maybe he was adopted, which is what we hope and pray for.
It took a week to get Stein out of the vet still. He spent Christmas on his own, alone. So I was eager to get him to the park.
As I got him to the park, he was still wobbly. It was around the end of 2021, maybe the 29th. Again, I stuck with him there. He was so shabby he got hissed on by Piano, even, a small kitten who barely was accepted in the gang, a few days prior.
He stayed in the park for some days. But it was barely two weeks in when, at this day, January 17th. He got ran over by a vehicle.
Their lives both represent so well the troubles and the tragic existences of stray cats. During so a young age they are already left abandoned to fend for themselves, having to defend themselves against EVERYTHING. Then, even if/when you treat them and spend money, they can disappear at any time for a number of reasons. And they can also suddenly die for health related reasons or others such as this.
They live so fleeting lives. These two are almost like they came to Earth just for a small vacation. They came, saw how things were and went back to their paradises on the Rainbow Bridge. For as much as we tried/try its like stray cats have strict directives and once they are done spending an X amount of time here, they will rejoin the Bridge just as happily as if waiting for a new meal.
What a terrible lives they live, and what unfairness. Even though they were amazingly cute and loving cats, they had no chance to live full happy lives, even tho I tried to give them one. One day a visiting lady was very amazed at how cute Stein was. But apologized saying she lived in an apartment with two other cats and coulnd take him in. They were amazingly loving, and cute cats, very different from the coarseness of Jason's (another stray) paw attacks. Gentle and educated. It's like a cruel paradox. Like they were telling me: "Despite all of our qualities we will still end up abandoned again".
Their lives show how tragic the lives of stray cats are. They were amazing creatures, beautiful till the last piece of fur. They were both born at around July/August 2021 (heretofore August 26 posthumously). They were born in this Earth and lived in it for around 6 months, of pure beauty and cuteness. And still they were tossed aside. But not to me. They lived. And here lies the recognition of their life.
Frank may still be out there - who knows where. May he be living a most awesome life. But it is doubtful. A life for young kittens is tough out there.
RIP dear Stein.
17th January 2022.
